Move Your Body

Everyone feels differently about exercise. Some people love it, some avoid it like the plague, and others put up with it. I’m one of those annoying people who actually really likes it.

I always have been, and I expect that I always will be.

Just move your body!

I’m not married to any one type of exercise. Why limit myself to just one type, when I can try many? Plus, I tend to get bored here and there, and enjoy changing it up a little bit.

Now that it’s summer, it’s fun to do new things. Are you someone who likes to hike?

Just move your body. It's really that simple.

Just move your body. It’s really that simple.

Why not challenge yourself with a couple of different hikes here and there? Do you like swimming? A lot of outdoor summer pools offer morning adult swim classes. You will never see me at these, because the classes meet at the crack of dawn, but I think it’s a great form of exercise.

It doesn’t really matter what you do, as long as you do something. A little bit of exercise can go along way towards making you feel more energized, calmer, and better about yourself. Lately, I’ve gotten back into yoga, and for me, there’s nothing better. I love the way I feel after I’ve “practiced.” Don’t I sound professional?

But it’s true. Yoga makes me feel deeply calm, and I almost crave it. I’ve noticed that if life starts to get particulay busy and I don’t make time to put my body on my yoga mat, I can really tell a difference. So can my children. Grumpy Mommy tends to come out a little more, and I like it better when she doesn’t show her face around here very often.

Whatever form of exercise excites you, I encourage you to make time for it. You’re taking care of your health, blowing off some steam, and maybe even having fun. How could that be bad for anyone? Plus, you might look a little better in your clothes, and that’s an added bonus I don’t think anyone would mind.

Find meaning each day,

Dara
