Make Memorable Moments

Learn to make memorable moments in everyday life.

I spent a lot of time this past weekend with my family. We didn’t do anything spectacular, but the time we had together was stupendous. It was just a normal weekend, but our time together was anything but normal.

We talked and laughed. We played games, and the kids put on a show. It was fun and magical, because we captured the moment. All of us.

We weren’t just physically “there,” while mentally zoning out or being on our technology. We were all present. We showed up.

And it made a difference.

Make memorable moments in everyday life.

Don’t just travel on the path of life going through the motions. Really show up. Be present when you’re with your kids, family, and friends.  I know it’s hard to do all the time, but try to be “there” most of the time.
Make memories. Laugh with each other. Really talk.

Engage.

Being able to see the joy in everyday life is important. We can’t always be on vacation. In fact, most of the time we aren’t doing anything out of the ordinary. Most of the time we’re just trying to get by, and balance the normal chaos of daily life. We have bills to pay, dishes to wash, and laundry to fold. We’re running kids around, worrying about what to make for dinner, and trying to juggle our jobs and families.

We’re doing the best we can.

I’ll let you in on a little secret. It’s in these ordinary moments, just the normal day to day life, that you can have an extraordinary connection with the people you love. But only if you make it a priority.

And you start by truly being present, connecting to the people around you, and living in the here and now.

Find meaning each day,

Dara
